Target Beauty Box April 2018

Trinity-May Beauty

I always try to get the monthly Target beauty boxes. I recently reviewed the In-Store boxes but this is the one you have to order online. This is my 3rd or 4th time actually buying it in time!

Here it is:

Target Beauty April 2018.jpg

This is one of my least favorite ones I have ever gotten. It still has good items, but some are bad scents and I won’t use them. I do really love the shampoo and conditioner and they are in the brand I love! It smells amazing and so does the body wash! Im excited to try the mask but for the rest of the products, I don’t think I can use them on my sensitive skin. Its and okay box I guess, and the shampoo and conditioner samples last A LONG TIME!

Hope you enjoyed!

Makeup “Starter Kit” for Newbies

If you’re just starting out with makeup, this post is just for you! Makeup may seem pricey from the get-go, but it’s all about investing. Most of the products you buy, usually will last up to a few months before tossing it out and buying more. If you’re lost on what to buy first, start with the basics. A starter should always be primer. The purpose of primer is to create a smooth (sometimes tacky) base for your makeup to look more radiant and last longer. Another reason why this is so essential is that it’s the layer that keeps the actual makeup products from soaking in to your pores first. A really cheap and effective one is the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser (retails for $6-$7). But if you’re on a budget, aloe vera gel always did the job for me. You can get brow products for really…

Wow it feels like it’s been a hot MINUTE since I’ve had the time to really compose a piece for my blog. What can I say; I was caught in the midst of exam season. My priorities were as scrambled as my answers to the overly elaborate and existential questions that my English profs were posing for my final assignments.

“Discuss time, as well, as a measure of the success of art. Illustrate the scope of this generalized theme in its several manifestations, and characterize the moods the poet associates with destiny and mutability as they connect to the poetic present”. BRuH.

My skin tends to flare up and misbehave whenever I get stressed out, and the creeping deadlines and final papers of the term can really trigger my acne. So, it comes as no surprise that my skin decided to act like a temperamental piece of shit right…

Sophia’s Skincare Routine

Skincare is my jam! I love the feeling of taking care of my body. With a fresh and clean face I start with my Neutrogena cleanser to get any dirt off my face. Second, I use my exfoliator to remove dead  or dry skin. On a good day when I’m feeling like giving my skin extra attention I will do a face mask focusing on my pores or reviving my skin. Rinsing off with warm water I proceed to use my eye cream to hydrate. I recently just purchased a renewal serum that provides a tingling feeling. My favorite step is my moisturizer because it gives a cooling feeling to the skin. Also remember that beauty starts within and drinking water is an awesome way to give your skin a radiant feeling.skincare.png

Carbon Coco – Natural Teeth Whitening

This is the first teeth whitening solution I have tried that doesn’t hurt my teeth and make them super sensitive. Carbon Coco is a natural teeth whitener made with activated charcoal without any toxic chemicals. In addition to whitening your teeth, it also strengthens your enamel, detoxifies your mouth, prevents bad breath, removes plaque, and prevents harmful bacteria. The only ingredients are organic coconut activated charcoal, lemon myrtle, and a little bentonite powder. I was a little hesitant to use it at first because the thought of putting charcoal on my teeth sounded a little intense to be using, but it was the exact opposite. My before and after photo above shows my results after just 1 week. It’s not a super dramatic difference but I can tell that it is working. I can’t wait to see what they’ll look like a week from now and even a month from…

Almost every, single time I go to shopping, I leave with a bag FULL of new beauty products to try. Nordstrom and Sephora seriously are my happy place! I LOVE to read about product launches & reviews. This month I have sooo many new finds to share – Especially due to the recent VIB sale!

O-M-G! This lipstick has blown me away! I cannot believe how pigmented, hydrating, and long wearing this product is!

I love most colors in the collection but find myself wearing ‘Hibiscus’ most often.

I love NARS blushes! I’d recently fallen in love with the cult favorite ‘Orgasm’ and decided to pick up it’s more shimmery sister. Soooo gorgeous! At first look, the glitter particles seem quite large, however, it produces a sheer pop of color and a…

The “Glass Skin” Trend Broken Down– 7 Easy Steps to Achieve Lucid Skin

Basic Girl vs. The World

What it is:

Our generation is obsessed with shiny skin- in the age of skin highlighters, we now see rise to a Korean beauty routine aimed at achieving the illusive “glass skin.” Over the past few months, many of these routines by Korean beauty gurus such as Ellie Choi have gone viral. This multi-step routine is focused on gentle cleansing, toning, exfoliating, and extreme moisturizing to achieve shiny, poreless skin- as glassy as a freshly Windexed window.

How you can get it:

While researching various multi-step glass skin regimes I quickly came to the conclusion that this process is not all that different from what should already be part of your daily skincare routine. Personally, I swear by Clinique’s 3-Step system ($47), which easily constitutes 3 of the approximately 7 steps to achieve glass skin (some sites say less steps, others as many as 11, but I think the full…

Best Blushes

Welcome back to TheLexiEdit!

Best Blushes from Sephora and the Drugstore

Blush is probably my most favorite makeup product. I think that blush can really brighten up your look and make one look alive, healthy, and appear to be glowing from within. In today’s blog post, I will review my favorite blushes from Sephora and the Drugstore. I will provide my own review with pictures and swatches!

Best Blushes from Sephora:

  1. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush–$29

These Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes are my absolute favorite blush formula that I have ever come across. They are pigmented but not too pigmented. They are not over pigmented like many blushes nor do they cause you to look like a clown after application. Instead, these blushes provide just a natural and beautiful flush of color that is so flattering on the skin. The blushes come in a beautiful shade range that features: peaches…
